Sanwa Kagaku Kenkyusho said on July 30 that its manufacturing plant in Uto, Kumamoto Prefecture, remains out of operation after sustaining damage to buildings and production equipment in the massive earthquake that struck southwestern Japan on July 28.
The drug maker said inspections are continuing and that it will announce a production restart timeline once it has been determined.
They added that inventories are sufficient to prevent any immediate supply disruptions. If prolonged restoration work is expected to affect supplies, the company said it will promptly disclose the situation.
